How long is the email address valid?
Each address is valid for 10 minutes. After that, the address and all received messages are deleted automatically. You can generate a fresh address any time with the “New address” button.
Do I need to register?
No. The address is generated instantly when the page loads – without any signup, password or personal data.
Is it free?
Yes, 10MinMail is completely free.
Can I also send emails with the address?
No. Temporary addresses are meant for receiving messages only, for example confirmation links or one-time signups.
Is it anonymous and safe?
Using it requires no personal data. However, never use a disposable address for important or confidential accounts (e.g. banking), because the inbox is in principle accessible and gets deleted after it expires.
Is it legal?
Yes. Temporary email addresses are a legitimate tool to protect your privacy. As always, only misuse for illegal purposes is prohibited.
How does it work behind the scenes?
10MinMail owns an email domain and accepts mail for randomly generated addresses on it. When someone sends a message to your temporary address, it is routed to our server and shown in the inbox on the page within seconds. There is no account and no login — the address only exists in your current browser session.
Can I choose my own address?
No. Addresses are generated randomly. That is intentional: a random address cannot be guessed by others and is not linked to your identity. If you don't like the current one, click “New address” to get a different one instantly.
Can I extend the 10 minutes?
The lifetime of an address is fixed at 10 minutes. If you need more time, generate a fresh address and use that one instead — it costs nothing and takes one click. Just make sure you request verification emails while the address is still active.
Why didn't I receive an email?
The most common reasons: the sender simply takes a few minutes to deliver, the address was typed with a mistake, the address had already expired when the mail was sent, or the website blocks disposable email domains. Keep the page open — the inbox refreshes automatically every few seconds.
Do some websites block temporary email addresses?
Yes, a few services maintain blocklists of known disposable email domains and reject signups from them. If that happens, the site wants a long-term relationship with you — decide whether it deserves your real address or whether you skip it.
Can I recover an expired inbox?
No. Once the 10 minutes are over, the address and its messages are gone and cannot be restored — there is no account that could recover them. If a message contains something you need, act on it or save it while the address is still valid.
How many addresses can I create?
As many as you like. Every click on “New address” gives you a fresh, independent inbox for another 10 minutes, free of charge.
What should I use a temporary address for?
Typical uses: one-time signups, downloads behind email gates, free trials, testing your own signup flows, and Wi-Fi portals that demand an email address. Never use it for banking, shopping orders, or any account you'll need to access or recover later.
